    Biography

    Who is Greg Petralia?

Greg Petralia is a recent graduate of Hofstra University's Lawrence School of Communication where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Television Production with a minor in Creative Writing. During his time at Hofstra, Greg served a variety of roles where he was able to have creative control during a production.

The first was head writer for Hofstra’s late-night comedy show “Two Weeks Notice” seventh season. There, he led the writers' room discussions and generates scripts for the show that are topical and most importantly, comedic.

The second position Greg held was producer/head writer for Hofstra's first sitcom "Advanced German" eleventh episode in which he also led the writers' room to collaborate and expand ideas as well as guide the production team to execute the content of the script onto the screen.

The third and final position Greg obtained was executive producer for his senior capstone project titled "News Wars" which is a mockumentary-styled sitcom.  In this role, Greg oversaw and managed the entire production process of his capstone from its' early development stages to filming to postproduction editing.

Throughout his work on several television productions during his college career, Greg has learned the importance comedy makes in a script and how it can enhance a story and its characters. Greg is pursuing a career in the television industry to be a writer for children’s programming as he believes that comedy is a great method to teach children valuable educational and moral lessons.

On a personal note, Greg lives on Long Island, New York with his parents, brother, and their family Goldendoodle Gibby (named after the tumultuous character from the Nickelodeon show iCarly). While Greg isn’t in class, he likes to spend his free time baking and watching movies with his girlfriend.
